Those aren't ugly or anything! They look pretty darn good to me - especially for a newbie. You might have a future in making your jewelry with your own beads! Fun!
Hey girls, it was great fun and I really really wanna give it a go but need to save lots and lots of pennies which will mean cutting back on buying lovely beads, aargghhhhhh!
Annie, the first bit is actually quite hard, just getting the first bit of glass on the mandrel but I was so surprised that they came out round! I can't do spots yet, too heavy handed!
Wow, these are amazing!!!!!!! I'm so envious as I'd love to make my own beads!! I think they're just wonderful particularly as they're your very first ones - your babies! :)
I'm jealous that those are your FIRST beads. Mine weren't even round. Then the first one I did in class was pointy and burned beyond recognition. Your lampwork future bodes well!
My name is Manda and I'm the designer behind Silver Storm. I'm based in Dorset which is for me one of the most beautiful of the English counties and I'm one of those lucky folks who has the perfect job, manager of a bead shop in the historic market town of Shaftesbury, home of Gold Hill where the Hovis advert was filmed.
I grew up surrounded by art and craft, as a child I would spend hours rummaging through my Grandmother's bead and button box stringing simple necklaces and bracelets, later making earrings to sell at school and eventually in 2000 I dusted off my pliers and here I am having the time of my life!
