My son passed his driving test! :) Yay, first time, to say I'm proud is an understatement, I'm brimming with pride! Now we have to do whole looking for an old but reliable banger thing (I love old cars, specially those with lots of added character) and its got to be cheap to run coz he's still a student. I'm so naive, thought it would be great to put him on my insurance only to find it would cost me over £3000, needless to say he's not driving my car!
3 beautiful and big American turquiouse beads, lovely aren't they, I've got one more stashed safely away. Lots of sterling silver in this design, I had great fun making it :)
Anyway, thought I'd check in and say hi to my pals, hope you all had a fab weekend in the sun, hasn't it been lovely but wow, ain't it cold at night!

I was more scared than proud when my kids started to drive. Is that wrong? :)
Love the bit about the clouds, the colors really reflect that.
Woohoo!! Congratulations to your son, Mandie!! That's absolutely WONDERFUL news!! I know what you mean about insurance, the prices are just dreadful!!
Gorgeous creations - love them!!
Hi Mandie, Congratulations to your son ;). We are fans of old cars too, my other half has just sold his 1974 MK1 escort and replaced it with a much younger 1988 Xr3i. My '93 vitara is a baby in comparison, but still held together with gaffer tape and wire (literally!).
I love the pieces you've posted this week, the turquoise beads and silverwork in your bracelet are fab. I've got some 14mm turquoise rounds of my own which came about a month ago and I'm just starting to make use of them in some jewellery. I can just imagine the sky that inspired your earrings too, love the combination of beads you've used.
Ali xx
Woo hoo!!! Congratulations to your son!! Hope you can find the right car for him!
Those earrings are just gorgeous and I love the bracelet too!!!
wow! well done mathew, that really is absolutely fabulous. totally agree with the old car thing. first car was a mini - 50 quid, with rust across the bottom the of the drivers door - i loved it. now have a vw camper which the kids love too (once they'd got over the fact theres no air con or electric windows haha) i've always said, i only have insurance cos its illegal not to, otherwise theres no point! oops! i've waffled, forgive me. fab son, fab jewellery...... no wonder your on a high! x
woohoo congrats to your baby boy Mandi isn't it stupid the insurance prices.
